The owners of Aura spared no expense when investing in the aesthetics of this night club. The interior decor venue is top tier. Aura features an elevated VIP room (access restriction is strictly enforced), and 2 large dance floors - one that primarily plays house and one that plays hip hop mixed with a dash of pop and a sprinkle of rock. The crowd varies from the very stylish and trendy 'scene' folks to the fairly random. Like every club, some nights are more special than others. Catch Aura on the right night and there will be no shortage of eye candy.

Its good sat nights but no where to sit. Kinda hit and miss. 6/27/2008 7:32:03 AM

Aura is a nice looking club that has a lot of good events. Their crowd tends to be more of the Livermore/Pleasanton crowd. You'll see a lot of blonde haired college girls here. On a good night this is a good club to be at, but when its slow, it can be boring. 4/26/2008 2:26:23 PM

I live in Dublin so this is a perfect spot for me! The music is good most of the time and the place is not too crowded, especially on a friday. The crowd can be a hit or miss. I love coming here because I don't have to drive far! Also, love all the bartenders, very friendly and ordering a drink is not a hassle :) 3/6/2008 2:54:18 PM

Aura, A place to unwind and be yourself! A place to go where you can feel at home and comfortable with your surroundings. 1/27/2008 4:08:23 PM

Aura is pretty fun. Two rooms, bigger place and a upscale crowd. Two drawbacks, drinks are really expensive and the dance floor is always super crowded. 1/26/2008 5:59:32 PM

This spot is dope!! every time i have been there with my friends it has been a good time, i highly recommend going even though it is a bit far from home (sf) 1/23/2008 9:20:10 PM

Although initially it would seem rather dubious to have a nightclub in a shopping center in the middle of Pleasanton Aura has done a great job spinning it into a pretty good club. Admittedly it's been awhile since I've been there but I was really suprised given the past history of clubs in Pleasanton but the best way to define the environment is that it's "fun". Let's assume for a minute I wanted more of a lounge type environment, I wouldn't choose Aura. Now let's assume I wanted to go out with my friends and have a fun time, then Aura isn't a terrible way to go. Bonus points for tons of free parking and easy access to major freeway. 10/16/2007 11:51:29 PM

Aura is by far the most unusual club i've ever been to; and this is definitely not a bad thing. It's set in a strip-mall and it works. Good music and a pretty crowd make this a worthy smaller suburban sister of Ruby Skye. (The only thing working against it is the location's lack of after-hours spots anywhere nearby) 10/12/2007 7:23:59 PM

Aura, good club for the East Bay...well the only real club in the East Bay. I always have a good time when I'm there. Nice to have a place that can have 2 formats of music and with a nice size dance floor. Decor is cool, location is a little off - set in a mini-mall but the people behind it (owners of Ruby Skye & Mixed Elements) know what they're doing and make a point of bringing SF style talent and other big names. I'd definitely recommend it if you don't feel like trekking to the city. 10/4/2007 1:35:30 PM

I love Aura! I was just there on Friday for a friend's birthday and had a blast! It is close to home with the feel of the city! The food is great too so go early and try the food! 10/2/2007 5:40:07 PM

I love Aura. It is my home away from home. Great people and good times. Both rooms are always slammin with amazing music and nonstop entertainment. Not to mention, whenever I get bored or need fresh air, I spend a few minutes outside with the devestatingly good looking security who I now call my friends. Love it- I would definately recommend Aura to anyone! 9/16/2007 4:55:22 PM

I LOVE Aura, nice that we finally have a more upscale place in the East Bay 9/10/2007 5:40:15 PM

What makes this club great is the location for those who live east in the contra costa area and do not wish to commute far to the city while wanting to experience an upscale club scene with a clean outgoing elite crowd ! Now where is my VIP card for life? LOL 7/28/2007 1:28:58 PM

I went to Aura for my birthday celebration and overall I give it a 3.5 The bartenders were great (I think I was pretty much toast within 30 mins..haha) , but no seating... that sucked. My friends and I had a blast though; music was hit or miss. One song hip hop, the next rock, the next 80s... wierd! Nice club though and the security was good. No rowdiness. 7/18/2007 10:59:31 PM

Well, growin' up round here...bout time there was a decent club in the East Bay.

From start to finish Aura is like home, and good times.

Management:
They really are all about customer service, and always looking to help out their patrons. They care about the quality and safety of their parties, so every time is a positive experience.

Security:
They are all good folks and respectful, they are all more like doorman.
The security training, but with good attitudes and very social.

Promoters:
They are all good folks.
They go around actually meeting the people they've invited and even passin' out drinks. They bring good people who are looking to have a great time.

Bartenders:
They are always efficient in their pouring for the most part.
Some are better than others, which you will quickly find out and be on a first name basis with them.

Sound/Lighting:
The sound is perfect quality...Gettin' in there to hear DJ AM or Donald Glaude is an awesome experience. Ruby Skye's touch with amazing lighting in every room.

Atmosphere/Decor:
Stickin' with Ruby Skye's tradition they never fall short, and always keep the place decked out in theme. If you don't come in theme, you will feel out of place because everyone comes fitted.

Wed: Revive is the thing to do on a Wednesday night.
As I'm sure you all know, that with El Balazo in Pleasanton goin' to shit that this party is a breath of fresh air for people looking to have some good music, and come in casual attire.

Thurs: They have live bands, and of course Joey Temple's "EXPOSE" party.
The live bands bring in a variety of East Bay kats, and Joey always brings a good crowd...some of the Thursdays are hit or miss, but coo overall.

Fridays: Fridays are jumpin', since most folks head out to the city on Saturdays, Aura is the spot to hit.

Sat: Good parties, but kind of hit or miss as well...depending on the promoter.

Aura is a great club that is run well, and I encourage you folks to head out the

It's become a fixture in the east bay night life. This place is great on Fridays. Aura has had some great DJ play and they are always planning new a different events. You can listen or dance to house in one room and then listen to Hip Hop and Top 40 tunes in the other. The bartenders are quick so even on crowded nights you won't find yourself waiting long to a drink. Another great thing about this club is that it's in a shopping center so you never have to worry about finding a spot. I suggest this club to anyone in the area. It's worth checking out. 7/15/2007 11:57:15 AM

I went there on Saturday for Girls Girls Girls and overall, I was pretty unimpressed. Maybe I'm just used to the clubs from the city... but I just didn't like it. First of all, no one even showed up until about 11, which I thought was pretty lame since we were there at 10... basically all by ourselves. Secondly, they had no where to sit unless you reserved a table. Speaking of which... they had nothing around the tables to indicate they were reserved, so we had an awkward moment where we'd been sitting at a table from 10-11 and when the people showed up they had to ask us to leave. There should have at least been a sign up saying something like "This table is reserved from 11-2AM" or something so that situation could have been avoided. Next... the party was called Girls Girls Girls... but... it seemed like there were a lot of Guys Guys Guys. I can imagine that wasn't exactly what single guys were expecting when they showed up. Not saying they shouldn't have been let in... but if you're going to have a party called "Girls Girls Girls"... you should try to make the balance of Girls:Guys at least 60:40, not the other way around. The dance floor in the "red room" was weird because it was like 40% of the people in the red room were on the dance floor getting their groove on and everyone else was just standing around staring at them like awkward teenagers at a homecoming dance. There were more things, but they're barely even worth mentioning. I did like the concept of the Red/Blue rooms and the fact that they had different music in both. Other than that, it's hard to give the club any compliments. I can't see myself going back there. 7/9/2007 1:39:06 AM

Aura is hit or miss. DJ AM nights are a must see- big crowd, excellent music, fun atmosphere. Other nights it can be dead and music could be better. 7/3/2007 4:32:28 PM

I liked this place a lot the many times I have been there.. 7/2/2007 9:11:14 PM

The biggest club in the East Bay. It has hosted big talent such as DJ AM, Danity Kane, Dave Navarro, and Travis Barker. Great times if you do not want to drive to SF and SJ because of parking. Hotels are nearby for preparty and no duis. 7/2/2007 8:24:19 AM

Aura feels like home.. Always great to see friendly, fun, welcoming faces!
The bouncers and staff are friendly, and the VIP is the absolute best!
The dj's are great, the promoters and hosts are a blast to be around, and when djAM is there.. you better get your ass there to check him out.
I've been treated like gold every time.. worth driving all the way from Sacramento!

I love reviewing clubs... it's like it's my chance to lash back when there?s marginal treatment.

First of all I want to say, the overall experience was not terrible, just not GREAT, so please keep reading.

My friends and I went with a large party, around 12 girls and 4 guys... we paid for two tables, they were in the "house room".

Our paid for tables may as well have been in an alleyway since every 5 minutes we were kicking someone out of our area... people would just sit down and drink our booze? no bouncer, no dedication no special treatment.

VIP - Very Impatient Person

My patience was lost immediately when the bouncer gave me an attitude because I choose to have him remove the young ladies that were helping themselves to our Vodka... THREE TIMES!!!! If I have to remove someone drinking my booze that THEY didn?t pay for, I wouldn?t be nice about it? I may even break down and use profane language due to my low alcohol limit (caused by the fact that ?randoms? were drinking my booze)

The crowd was OK, I was so stuck on being in the secondary VIP that I could hardly concentrate having fun? I?m like that though?

The front door staff was actually good, polite and to the point. I found it a little odd that your drinks have to be left at the front door, and the front door girls charge a dollar to leave your drinks on the table... oh yeah, then when you come back, they are not there... Ummmkaaaaaaayyyyy?

We had one removed due to his level of inebriation, he was stumbling and the party scene doesn?t work so well with drunks slobbering all over the dance floor? I SUPPORT THIS?

I?ve been clubbing for years, I?ve paid my dues and don?t go out as much as I used to? IF I choose to go out, I want to do it BIG? AURA would not be my choice? they are not good at VIP yet?

That being said, if you want to go out, shake your butt and spill a few drinks? it?s an OK spot?

The East Bay has been a "Hott Spot" for the last 7 years. There have been a few attempts to provide an Upscale club, in the Tri-Valley. The clubs were always just shy of going to the next level. AURA is the "NEXT LEVEL. The food is unbelievable. The lighting through out the club sets a euphoric vibe. The sound system is one of the best in the Bay Area. The interior designer set out to capture a feeling of celebration, with a splash of artistic inspiration. I believe there is no other club, on this side of the Bay Area that can claim the title, like AURA nightclub can. Not only am I a promoter at AURA, but I am also a client..lol 4/1/2007 6:39:18 PM

What can I say...I love going to Club Aura. Outside it doesn't look like much but once you get inside, it's a whole other world. Not only is the inside scene great, but so are the people that work that place. The bouncers aren't pushy and rude, the bartenders don't stiff you on the drinks, the DJ's that play there are great at what they do and the crowd that's usually there are a blast to hang out with. I've been going there since the 1st day it opened and it would be nice if they had a similar show that they had on the opening night once in a while because it was off the hook! Very interesting to see body contortionists and women on stilts! I drive 80 miles every other weekend to come to Aura...that's how much I love it!! 3/4/2007 2:40:42 PM

I think to maintain honestly you should list a few good things, and some critisms as well. We all know in life its the 'critics' that made us better. Aura always has a good crowd and they bring in BIG names like DJ AM once a month. Its location is a good meeting point for south bay, east bay and SF people...so on HOT nights like DJ AM, the crowd seems extra hot. I also remember being there for 'danity kane'...I felt like i was @ a sorority house. ALL girls! haha I also enjoy the VIP section's set-up. You can be in the VIP, but you are close to the DJ and the dance floor, so you are still a 'part' of the masses. My only criticism for this venue is that its TOO dark. It would be nice if it were a little more 'lit'. It feels like an after hours venue in Las Vegas. The 'house' room seems to be not as exciting as the main room on any night. The order of excitement is: The VIP, the Main Dance Floor, The Womens Restroom Line, AND then finally the house room. When its really jumping everyones clumped on the main dance floor. I feel bad for the other DJ when DJ AM is in the main room. 2/1/2007 5:58:16 PM

I went to Aura when it first opened. I like the space a lot considering what they had to work with (not the sexiest of locations or venues). Once inside, however, you are treated to a very sensible layout with enough avenues to get a drink, to access your table, listen to music, dance, and/or head directly to VIP. The sound system was very good and the drinks were competitively priced. That particular night's crowd was brilliant - gorgeous and high energy. Aura has a reputation of adding crowd-pleasing elements such as dancers and percussionists. It has a positive effect and doesn't take away from the atmosphere - only adding to it. If you can make it out to Pleasanton for a DJ AM spun party or if you live in the East Bay, you can't go wrong. 12/20/2006 2:07:24 PM

I had so much fun at Aura. The people were cool and the music was hot. The overall feeling was great. 11/7/2006 3:11:24 PM

Ive been to Aura a handful of times, and always seem to have a good time whether it be a live band, DJ or 80s night! The crowd is pretty regular but very welcoming to new faces! Casual but classy attire worn by many good looking people....The drinks could use a slight help, but we'll just say they were busy. Overall its a fun place to hang out, close to a few restaurants if you want to grab a bite to eat first, oh and parking is usually not a problem. One tip...Cops like to hide out in various places on the block around 2am!! 11/1/2006 8:10:48 PM

Aura is nice place, with good music and a good crowd. This place has potential, but the location is very odd and they need to re-evaluate their staff. Specifically the bouncers. They are the most impolite people I have ever seen. I have NEVER been treated this way in San Jose OR SAN FRANCISCO. They have some nerve...

The 3 times that I have been there, I have had nothing but a bad experience at the door. I only go to support my south bay peeps when they promote/host at Aura, other than that, this place is on my black list.
